TEAMMATE SPOTLIGHT – LUIS ABRAHAM

Meet Luis Abraham…

 

What’s your role at AIRBORNE Tampa?

“I am a Material Control Supervisor.  I ensure the materials required by Production makes it to aircraft in a timely manner… it’s a hustle.”

 

How long have you worked at AIRBORNE Tampa?

“I have been at AIRBORNE/PEMCO for six plus years.  I started as a Storekeeper and moved up to my current position.”

 

What interest you / how did you get started in aviation? 

“I love being around airplanes.  Working at PEMCO is my first job in Aviation.”

 

Do you remember your first flight?

“I was eight years old for my first flight.  It was on an American Airlines Boeing 767 going from Puerto Rico to Texas with my family for vacation.”

 

What’s your favorite vacation or travel spot?

“Now that I live in Florida, my favorite place to vacation is Puerto Rico.  It is where I was born.  I love the people, the food and the beautiful beaches.  I go there every chance I get.”

 

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

“Flying”

 

What did you want to be when you grew up? 

“I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer and I am still working towards that goal.  I have achieved a BS in Mechanical Engineering and preparing for FET certificate exam.  I am also working on my AutoCad certificate.”

 

What do you like to do outside of work ?

“I like being in the outdoors,riding my four wheeler and doing any type of extreme adventures.”

 

What would you tell others interested in working at AIRBORNE; interested in aviation? 

“PEMCO is a great company to work for.  I love the  people I work with.  They make me feel like I have another family.”

 

What’s your favorite quote?

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever.”
