Meet Judy Woodard…

What’s your role at AIRBORNE Tampa?
I am the Executive Assistant here at Pemco.  I do a little bit of everything; most people know me as “The Cake Lady” because I handle the monthly birthday cakes here.

How long have you worked at AIRBORNE Tampa?
I started in 2014 as the Executive Assistant and left when my husband took a job in Dallas.  We came back one year later and I was happy to return to work at Pemco.  I was the Contracts Specialist for a little while, and then became the Executive Assistant again when that position opened up.”

What interested you / how did you get started in aviation?
“I was a travel agent for several years before going to work at Piaggio Aero, an Italian aircraft manufacturer, at their US headquarters in West Palm Beach.  It was interesting to visit the factory in Genoa to see how the airplanes were made.”

Do you remember your first flight?
“I remember taking a flight on a seaplane from South Florida to the Bahamas when I was pretty young.  It took off and landed in the water.  I remember seeing the ocean waves splashing on the windows; that was fun!”
What’s your favorite vacation or travel spot?
“Any place that has a beach”

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
“I would love to be able to snap my fingers and be anywhere I wanted to be, like Samantha on Bewitched.  That would be much better than driving in the Tampa traffic!”

What did you want to be when you grew up?
“A teacher”

What do you like to do outside of work?
” I love to cook and spend time with my family.”

What would you tell others interested in working at AIRBORNE Tampa; interested in aviation?
It’s a great place to work, with different departments to explore to find which one fits you best.”

What is your favorite quote?
“Treat others how you would like to be treated”
