PEMCO’s teammate spotlight features employees throughout the company. Every month, we’ll introduce you to a teammate that makes PEMCO possible.
Meet Jay Abrahamsson…
What’s your role at PEMCO? How long have you worked at PEMCO?
I’ve been a GSE and facilities mechanic at PEMCO for over six years. I repair, fix, install, weld … I can pretty much research and fix anything.
I get to do something different every day. I like challenges and figuring out the best way to fix things (and save the company money).
What did you do before PEMCO?
I was an electrician for 17 years in the industrial equipment and maintenance industry. Before that, I worked in hospitals as a maintenance technician.
Do you remember your first flight?
I was 11 years old heading to Puerto Rico to visit family.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I’d like to read minds so that I can understand what people are thinking. Or predict the future.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to golf, fish, and sit by the pool. I hang out with my friends and family. I have four kids, so I spend a lot of time with them.
What does Lean mean to you?
Organization, structure, and safety. I’ve been part of a few RIEs and have worked with the Lean program on multiple occasions. Following the program, things work out for the better.
What would you tell others interested in working at PEMCO?
PEMCO has been good to me, and is a very good company to work for. You’ll get to do something different every day, and work with great people.
