TAMPA, Fla. – Aviation maintenance and engineering company PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) has announced the appointment of David Beaver from production control manager to director of planning. He will be based in Tampa, Fla. where he will oversee all planning and production control processes and procedures. Beaver will succeed Tim Howard, who retired in April.
“I am proud to see David back home with the well-rounded team here in Tampa,” said PEMCO Vice President of Maintenance Shane King, to who Beaver will report. “I truly believe David will help strengthen the company as a whole as he brings more vision to the company from working at other MROs in our industry.”
Beaver started his aviation career as a mechanic in 1999 at PEMCO’s Dothan, Ala. facility, where he also served as a supervisor and manager until 2012. He then worked at ST Aerospace and AAR as a production manager prior to his return to PEMCO in 2016, taking the role of production manager and, most recently, production control manager.
Beaver shared, “I am proud to see how PEMCO has progressed over the years. I plan to maintain our world-class standard by providing effective and efficient planning services.”
As director of planning, Beaver will be responsible for monitoring, tracking and adjusting the production flow plan; analyzing budgets, schedules, and manpower levels; and overseeing a department of 25-plus employees. He brings almost 20 years’ aviation industry experience to his new role.
Prior to his career in commercial aviation, Beaver served as a helicopter mechanic in the US Army (active duty) and US Army Reserves and attended Wallace Community College and Ozark Community College. In his spare time, Beaver enjoys spending time with his five daughters, hunting, fishing and photography. He is A&P certified.
King added, “David is dedicated to his job as well as his family and is up for the challenge for years to come.”
