China Postal EMS Fleet Growing to 15 PEMCO Freighters

TAMPA, Fla. (September 9, 2013) — PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO), a leading global MRO and aircraft conversion provider, has announced an additional five-aircraft 737 PTF program with China’s postal service commencing September 2013. This deal follows the recent redelivery of its tenth freighter, an 11-position High Yield 737-400F, for Beijing-based China Postal Airlines (CPA).

By this time next year, China Postal’s fleet will include 15 PEMCO-modified 737-300F & 737-400F aircraft, reaffirming their commitment to the highly successful partnership with PEMCO. The first two 737-300 aircraft are scheduled for induction this month, with the remaining three being converted in 2014. The conversions will be performed at STAECO’s Jinan Shandong facility, PEMCO’s partner on over 40 Boeing 737-300 & -400 freighter modification projects.

The 737-300F aircraft are nine-position freighters capable of hauling 3,600 ft3 of main deck cargo (4,660 ft3 total) weighing up to 43,100 lbs and 1,700 nm at maximum structural payload (2,800 nm total). PEMCO B737 freighter conversions are designed, certified and supported using data obtained through a Boeing Data licensing agreement to ensure maximum performance and reliability.

“We are humbled and grateful for China Postal’s loyalty in building its express freighter fleet with PEMCO 737-300/400 freighters. It reflects well on the program and is testament to the professionalism and expertise of the many fine men and women involved on both sides of the Pacific,” stated PEMCO President, Kevin Casey.

Casey added, “Together with our teammates at STAECO, this strategic deal delivers the right product at the right economics and builds on our long running partnership with CPA. It also underscores the effectiveness of our STAECO (HAECO Group) collaboration, which is now approaching 45 conversions together in just the past seven years.”
