“Hi! I'm DeeDee and I'm an Interior Mechanic”

How long have you worked at AIRBORNE TAMPA?
“I have been at Airborne for almost 2 years now working our cabins.”

What interested you / how did you get started in aviation?
“I started to get an interest in Aviation by watching my boyfriend go through school, practicing with his test for A&P, and listening to his workdays.”

Do you remember your first flight? Tell us about it.
“OMG! How can I forget my first flight?! It was everything to me. I always wanted to fly! It was a flight with Spirit Airlines, I was like 28, I think. Take-off was...rough! LOLO (I actually have it on video.) We were going to Puerto Rico for my 1st time as well. The most memorable part was when we broke through the clouds! I cried. It was everything I expected it to be! I always wanted to be on the top side of the clouds looking down.”

What’s your favorite vacation or travel spot?
“I would def have to say Puerto Rico, or anywhere with a beach.”

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
“I would have to say fly! Just to constantly be able to be off in the sky.”

What did you want to be when you grew up?
“Honestly, growing up, I wanted to be a little bit of everything.”

What do you like to do outside of work (hobbies, etc.)?
“Outside of work, I like to take it easy. Hit the beach, be with my family, play my video games, and just be DeeDee. LOL”

What would you tell others interested in working at AIRBORNE TAMPA; interested in aviation?
“I'm always telling my girls about work. I would say just go for it! Pick up a wrench and let's see what you can do. I'll be right there with you and that they would love to do it. You never know what you are capable of.”
