ANAC Brazil Approves PEMCO 737 Freighter STC’s

TAMPA, Fla. (July 29, 2013) — PEMCO World Air Services announced today the approval of its Boeing 737 300/400 passenger to freighter modifications by ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), Brazil.

Expansion into Brazil adds to PEMCO’s global reach and represents the 30th major national aviation authority certification of its industry-leading 737-300/400 Freighter, Combi and Quick Change products. Approval by ANAC was accomplished in cooperation with the U.S. FAA who provided guidance based on familiarity with PEMCO’s conversion products and multiple worldwide bilateral approvals and certifications.

PEMCO was highly complimentary of Brazil’s ANAC and the U.S. FAA ACO for their cooperative effort during the course of the certification process. The approval process was smooth and timely in part because of ANAC’s desire that Brazilian air carriers have access to the best aircraft available and to PEMCO’s well-established record for superior 737-300/400 freighter product quality, safety, and unparalleled 99.4% dispatch reliability. PEMCO’s effective use of Boeing data to design, build and support its converted freighters was also noted as a key factor by ANAC authorities.

Company executives noted the significance of this approval as a gateway to serve the enviable Brazilian economy and its increasing demand for more modern regional freighters. Over the past few weeks PEMCO has already delivered two 737-400 11-position high-yield freighters to two different Brazilian air carriers with a third scheduled for next month.

A company spokesperson confirmed that PEMCO has reached the century mark in its prolific B737-300/400 PTF program — one hundred Boeing 737-300/400 Freighters, QCs and Combis in service — a milestone seldom achieved by a passenger-to-freighter conversion program. Combined with additional orders from Brazil, its PTF backlog is at its highest level since it converted 99 B727-100/200 aircraft for FedEx Corporation. With this ANAC certification, the first Brazilian deliveries, and last month’s 737-400 Freighter & Combi deliveries to the Columbian Air Force, PEMCO expects to gain broad market acceptance throughout Brazil and South America.
